My alternative Christmas party outfit with Cari’s Closet

My alternative Christmas party outfit with Cari’s Closet

What makes a typical Christmas party outfit for me? Well, it’s probably sparkly, most likely in festive colours and there’s a good chance it’s made from velvet fabric.

But when Cari’s Closet asked me to style one of their gorgeous dresses, I decided to take it as an opportunity to create an alternative Christmas party look. That’s right: I’ve forsaken my usual love of sequins to explore something totally new, but still equally ‘me’. After all, a dress is for life, not just for Christmas, right?

This ‘dress’ is actually a playsuit, which is not something I wear much these days at all! However, I was instantly drawn to the unusual (though totally Alice) colour combo of deep purple and bright orange. Who would have thought Daphne from Scooby Doo would turn out to be my style icon for a Christmas party outfit?

If you love the pattern and style but fancy a more muted colour option (a feeling I’ve never never personally felt with my love for bright clothes but I believe it does exist) then Cari’s Closet also stocks this playsuit in a stunning nude version. It would look show stopping with a rich tan and some gold accessories.

My absolutely favourite part of this playsuit is the Bardot neckline. I love an off the shoulder number. It always makes me feel so elegant!

To prevent my chest looking too bare I’ve gone for an opulent necklace, which for some reason makes this look seem more Christmas party to me – don’t ask me why!ย The Arianna-style ponytail is optional, but I think this hairstyle is really flattering with an exposed shoulder.

Bardot necklines are also great for summer. Part of the reason I liked this playsuit is I can see me wearing it in different ways throughout the year. It’s important for me to actually wear my clothes, so the more versatile something is, the better!

Let’s talk briefly about Cari’s Closet. I’ll admit I hadn’t heard of this brand until recently, but I’m now infatuated with all their stock! Seriously, I’ve never had such a hard time choosing an item to style before.

If you’re after glam dresses, whether that be for a Christmas party like me, or a day at the races come summer, Cari has you covered. They are based in Ireland, but ship globally. My order arrived by DPD without any issues. I reeeaaaallly wanted an excuse to wear this all-over sequin maxi dress, but sadly my life is not that glamorous right now. *sigh*

I was gifted the playsuit in this post. However, all views are my own.

This is such a popping outfit and you will stand out in the sea of sequins this Christmas! Love the scallop edging and the fact it is a playsuit is super cute.

    Thanks for sharing!
