It was all yellow: My cut-price classy look

Oh I do love a bargain! Especially when it comes to my wardrobe.

But my favourite type of bargain must surely be when something I wanted to buy anyway magically goes on sale. Say hello to the yellow dress of dreams.

I am a little bit obsessed with anything yellow right now, and I instantly feel in love with this glorious dress from New Look. I love everything about it – the colour, the fabric, the cut…

The dress forms part of New Look’s Premium collection (which I didn’t know existed). I’ve mentioned before about my love for premium High Street lines. The pieces feel just that little bit more special, and are often much better quality too, but are still affordable.

So with the colour, style and fabric ticking all my boxes, I was holding out until pay day to buy this beauty. But then – miracle of miracles –  I went back to the website and it was on sale *insert Hallelujah chorus here*

I’m often a bit skeptical of sale buys. After all, cheaper doesn’t necessarily mean better value! However, if it’s something you were looking for anyway then definitely embrace that saving.

Now this dress is pretty sophisticated, but I live a rather, er, unglamorous life. So when I had the opportunity to explore the gorgeous (and classy!) Notting Hill area of London, I knew I had to wear this dress.

I’ve styled it here for maximum sophisticated vibes… all on the cheap, of course. I picked up this amazing vintage Gucci bag at a flea market in New York. My shoes are BCBG’s take on Valentino’s Rock Studs, made even cheaper by purchasing at T.K. Maxx. And my sunglasses? Primark, darling!

Every time I buy myself another yellow dress, I tell myself it’ll be the last one. And then I see another…

You look absolutely glorious in this.

I found an Elizabeth and James blazer (originally $450) but I got it for less than $50 on sale. I was giddy from the bargain! You look fabulous!
