Nail the sales: what to buy now to wear into autumn

For me, sales are a minefield. At this time of year all I want to buy is sparkly festival-themed items and light summer dresses, despite having no festival or holiday plans (cry).

But to really nail the sales, it’s important to think ahead. Here’s my pick of what bargains to buy now that will serve you well into autumn.

Dresses

Pretty Little Thing New Look Topshop dresses in the sale bargain summer to autumn buysThe best trans-seasonal dresses look equally great with tights or without; with sandals or knee high boots. This first dress fits none of that criteria, but I am so in love with this ruffle floral maxi dress from Pretty Little Thing I couldn’t not include it in the round up! However, this showstopper would be perfect for any formal events in the coming months, with its autumnal colour palette and, at only £22, it really is a steal.

Also nailing the summer to autumn colour trend is this mustard yellow dress from New Look. Down from £39.99 to £28, this is a dress you’ll get loads of wear out of (and lots of compliments on too!)

Last up is this gorgeous navy v neck dress by Rare London, available at Topshop. Why’s it great? Navy is perfect for any time of year, and this dress is ticking the military trend box, which is definitely not going anywhere. The best bit? It’s only £18.

Jumpsuits

jumpsuits.jpgGosh I love a good jumpsuit, don’t you? I am majorly crushing on this zany animal print jumpsuit from Topshop. It’s currently half price at £15, and I think it is the perfect piece to take you from summer to autumn. Right now, wear it simply with sandals, and come September this will be perfect with a cropped biker and some sock boots. Looking stylish was never so easy!

Next up is this black mesh detail jumpsuit. This Boohoo lovely will only set you back a tenner. Yep, £10! I love how smart this piece is. It would be great for something a bit different to wear to work, or ideal for a meal out. It comes in red too if you’re feeling especially bold.

Tops

topsIn a sea of slinky summer tops, these beauts will do you right. First up is this glittery Never Mind t shirt. I was instantly drawn to this tee from Mango because of it made me think of Nirvana. Pair it with a leather mini or some Mom jeans to channel retro rock chick vibes. At £12.99, it’s worth treating yourself.

Now it’s no secret I love orange, so this fine knit tangerine jumper is a must have in my opinion. This is from Topshop‘s fancy Boutique range, so it’s a little bit luxurious. It’s down from £50 to £30, and if you’re after some lightweight knitwear for autumn this is perfect.

Now for some ruffle perfection, such as this white ruffle sleeve shirt from Boohoo. For only £12 you can jazz up your workwear wardrobe. Wear under a sleeveless trench or gilet as the weather gets colder.

However, if you’re after something a bit jazzier, this pink ruffle blouse from Zara is beautiful. Hot pink will continue to be a fashion must have into autumn and at £15.99 this blouse is an affordable way to buy into the trend.

Jackets

jackets.jpgIt’s hard to get the perfect trans-seasonal jacket, but this incredible yellow jacket from Zara is an absolute dream. It’s half price at £39.99 down from £79.99.

For rainy autumn days, this baby pink rain coat is exactly what a gal needs. Available from New Look for £27, this jacket will take you from a festival to dog walking.

I firmly believe every woman needs a biker jacket in her wardrobe and right now it’s all about back detailing. I love this Girl Gang biker by Boohoo – it’s such a fun statement piece. At £15 it also won’t break the bank.

Accessories

accessories.jpgAhh, accessories – the most versatile of all pieces! First of all I am OBSESSED with these leopard print sandals from Mango. They’re light enough to wear now, but the closed toe stops these shoes feeling too summery. These are half price, from £59.99 down to £29.99.

Going back to the hot pink trend, this fab patent handbag from New Look will be so useful going into the new season. At only £11 it’s a really affordable way to inject some colour into your look.

If you’re more of a low-key gal, then these metallic embroidered trainers from Topshop are perfect. They’re currently better than half price at £15, though you’ll have to act quickly as they’re selling out fast.

Last up are these gorgeous beaded velvet sandals. These are just perfect for the festive party season, and at £29.99 from Zara they’re an affordable statement shoe that will make you feel a million dollars.

Enjoy the sales, lovelies!
