Orange is the new black: being a boss lady my way

Have you ever felt worried you don’t look ‘right’ to get ahead? Yeah, me too.

But since moving to London, I’ve seen both my career and personal style flourish. I’ve decided that if I’m going to be a boss lady, I’m going to do it my way.

Blazer: Mandi Candi; Trousers: Pretty Little Thing; Bralette: eBay; Shoes: Hidden Fashion; Choker: eBay

To me, nothing looks more powerful than fully embracing a bold look. And this look is bold. I am obsessing over this tangerine blazer by Mandi Candi. The double breasted nautical style and sharp lapels make this a timeless piece, but the bold orange colour keeps it very ‘Alice’.

To really look high end, tailoring has to fit like a glove, which this blazer certainly does. I also love this choker. I feel very Balmain in this look. The Kardashian clan, eat yer heart out!

However, despite designer inspiration, this was such a bargain outfit. These incredible flares cost me around £12 in the sale a year ago. And the shoes? They were a fiver. Don’t ever feel ashamed that your clothes aren’t designer labels. Trust me, spending big bucks won’t automatically make you any more stylish.

These photos were shot in Canary Wharf, and being in London’s financial district definitely did make me feel like a girl boss. I’m never going to live that corporate lifestyle… but it’s nice to know that if I did, I am capable of looking good while I’m doing it 😉

Keep on girl bossing – but always do it your way.
