Casual Sundays: Embracing denim

Casual Sundays: Embracing denim

Stop everything! Alice is wearing jeans!

Actually, these days I pretty much live out of them. In my, ehem, old age I live for looks that are comfortable and stylish.

If you’d told me this time last year one of my favourite outfits for spring would be a loose shirt and straight cut jeans I wouldn’t have believed you. But as soon as I saw this shirt with stripes and embroidery I knew it was going to become a wardrobe staple.

Embroidery is everywhere right now, but I feel the style on this shirt will have some staying power and won’t look dated in six months (let’s see, shall we?)

I’m going to take a moment for some serious shoe appreciation. I bought these Rock Stud-inspired babies for my graduation last July, and I’d forgotten how much I love them. With my wee legs I always worry I look a bit stumpy, but the nude colour and pointed toe of these do wonders to lift and lengthen.

When it came to accessorising this look, I focused on what went underneath as well as on top. This longline bra from Floozie at Debenhams ties in perfectly with the shirt’s embroidery and felt like the perfect finishing touch. For a night time look I’d wear this shirt fully unbuttoned and have the bralet as the main feature.

What looks are you loving for Spring?

I love the shirt! Whole outfit looks so calm and not at all boring.
