It’s no secret I love leather, but I know that this fabric can be a bit daunting for some people.
I’ve styled up one of this season’s must haves, the leather skirt, to show you that everyone can rock this look.
1. Work the rock chick vibes
Skirt: Missguided; jumper: New Look (kids); Coat: Missguided; Bag: Topshop; Boots: Red Herring at Debenhams; Necklace: Asos Marketplace
First, let’s talk about the skirt. I really like the length of this one from Missguided- not too long, yet not too short either- and the asymmetric detail with the zip.
Leather (and pleather, of course!) is great for this time of year as it’s one of the cosiest fabrics around. I’ve teamed my skirt with my favourite fine knit leopard print jumper and this really fluffy coat, for a stylish yet cosy look. The rock chick vibe is really on trend right now, which is convenient for me as I love everything about it! Leather, fur and animal print… what more can a gal ask for?!
2. Keep it chic
Skirt: as before; Shirt: Boohoo; Jacket: Zara; Bag: TK Maxx; Boots: as before
The great thing about leather is you can dress it up as easily as you can dress it down. A leather skirt can be a great addition to your workwear wardrobe, if you’re looking for something a little funky to add to the mix.
I’ve gone for a monochrome palette here, with some colour provided by my hair (!) and this fabulous clutch with on-trend badge detailing. The silver zip detailing keeps this look chic, while the biker style stops the outfit being too ‘pretty’.
3. Be a boho queen
Skirt: as before; Top: Missguided; Faux fur gilet: Primark; Boots: as before
A high waist leather skirt is the perfect way to show off a beautiful crop top. The straight cut of this skirt means there’s an option to experiment with a more voluptuous top half, like this bell-sleeve and fur gilet combo.
For an evening party look, I’ll ditch the gilet and own the sheer fabric of the top for an outfit that’s a real head turner.
Will you brave the leather skirt this season?
