Yeah, baby! Street Scenes and 70s Sass

Yeah, baby! Street Scenes and 70s Sass

It’s official, ladies- the 70s trend is not going anywhere.

I was hesitant to join on the retro bandwagon, but this is a style that has grown on me massively over the past year or so, especially retro jumpsuits. I searched EVERYWHERE to find a 70s-style denim jumpsuit- this flared number certainly didn’t disappoint.

Is it just me or are jumpsuits everywhere at the moment? I absolutely love them because they are an instant throw-on and go outfit.

After literally months of searching day and night for a 70s denim, flared, collared, zip-front jumpsuit (this gal knows what she likes!), I couldn’t believe my luck when I found this one for £20 on eBay. It’s actually a 90s vintage piece, but the style definitely reflects 70s roots. The cycle of fashion is renewed every twenty years it seems!

I’m definitely feeling Charlie’s Angels vibes from this look. There’s nothing like stretchy denim and a kick flare for enhancing the curves!

I decided to keep this look simple- after all, a 70s flared one piece pretty much speaks for itself. Apart from the obligatory platform sandals, a pair of classic Ray-Ban Wayfarers and a gold skinny belt make this look retro and summery.

Bralet: Millie’s Handmade

But with the jumpsuit’s zip front, I couldn’t resist hiding something a little cheeky underneath. This cute tartan bralet was handmade by a lady I follow on Instagram. I’m telling you, Insta is the place for finding new brands and unique pieces these days.

Would I go down the street with my bra out? Probably not. But it’s a great way to transition a piece like this from day to night. With underwear as outerwear appearing all over the catwalks, now is definitely the time to let that lingerie take centre stage, ladies.

Go on, be daring!
