The Luxe Bomber: A must-have item I didn’t know I needed

The Luxe Bomber: A must-have item I didn’t know I needed

I’ve never been too sold on bomber jackets. They have always seemed just too sporty for my glam/ girly style. However, when I saw this metallic tapestry-print version from Boohoo I was smitten.

Regardless of how much I liked it, I wasn’t too sure I’d find anything in my wardrobe to wear it with- nightmare! After much experimentation, here’s how I styled my bomber.

Street Style

bomber 2

Jacket: Boohoo; Blouse: Zara; Necklace: Boohoo; Jeans: Mango; Rucksack: eBay

The obvious way to wear a bomber is to portray a street-style vibe. However, there will be no sweatpants here- I went for my leather-look jeans instead to smarten up the look, while the jade green blouse serves as a bold colour contrast. I went for high-tops and a rucksack as a nod to the sporty trend.

Keep it Vintage

Jacket: Boohoo; Dress: Vintage: Boots: Boohoo

One look at the tapestry print on this bomber and I was instantly transported to the ’70s. How convenient, then, that I had this vintage dress to pair with it. This is a prime example of wardrobe reinventing- I had only worn this dress once before because I wasn’t sure what to wear it with and now it feels like a whole new look. I really love how the copper in the jacket comes to the fore thanks to the neutral shade of the dress.

Naughty 90s

Jacket: Boohoo; top: TK Maxx; Skirt: Goldie London; Boots: Boohoo; Hairband (as choker): Primark

They loved a good bomber in the ’90s and I’ve used that as my inspiration for this look. The autumnal colours of the jacket were a great starting point for a vamped-up look. The crop top and burgundy leather-look skirt make me feel like an extra from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (ahh… those were the days). The ’90s vibe is really popular right now so I would definitely wear this on a night out.
